Will we still have to wait for a draft bill comprehensively implementing the Directive on pay transparency?
Poland should implement the EU Directive on pay transparency by June next year. Thus far, a law implementing one of its articles has been passed, and a special team at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has been working on a draft second law since December 2024.
According to media reports, however, publication of the draft prepared by this team may be delayed. The reason is a lack of agreement on which public authority should be responsible for performing the tasks provided for in the Directive (the Minister of Labour, the Ombudsman, and the Head of the PM’s Office have all been suggested). Contrary to initial announcements, the provisions may therefore not be adopted this fall.
