Gender neutrality in job titles under question?
The Sejm has received a bill to amend the Labour Code to repeal the obligation to use gender-neutral job titles and to formulate job advertisements in accordance with the criteria of linguistic neutrality.
The authors of the bill emphasise that EU law does not impose an obligation on Member States to use neutral names or specific linguistic forms in advertisements of jobs.
The bill was submitted to the Sejm on 22 January 2026 and is awaiting a Sejm print number. It proposes amendments to Article 18(3ca) of the Labour Code which was implemented by the Act of 4 June 2025 and which has been in force since 24 December 2025.
