The Sejm is to simplify communication with trade unions

The deregulation committee has held the first reading of the government’s draft amendments to the Trade Unions Act and the Act on Informing and Consulting Employees.

The draft, prepared by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, envisages abandoning exclusive use of written form in favour of a choice between written, documentary, and electronic forms – to apply to both requests submitted by a workplace trade union, or an employees’ council, and to replies from an employer.

The new provisions are to come into force 14 days after promulgation in the Journal of Laws.
